What it is
LocalJams is an iPhone and iPad app that shows you live music happening near you across Ireland. Browse gigs by city, follow artists, and discover venues, all in one place.
The web app at localjams.live gives the same browse experience in a browser, on the same backend, with per-city pages and a free artist portal called Backstage.
The problem it solves
Finding live music in Ireland means checking five different Facebook pages, a venue website that was last updated in 2019, and hoping the act remembered to post the date. There is no single reliable source for "what is playing tonight in Cork" that covers small venues and local artists, not just major promoters.
LocalJams aggregates all of it: one app, every city, updated continuously.
My role
Sole developer and designer, product concept, iOS app (Swift/SwiftUI), web app (Next.js), backend (Supabase/Postgres), and the Backstage artist portal. All of it.

Why I built it
I play and attend a lot of gigs. I was also the person doing the five-tab refresh every time I wanted to know what was on. The obvious answer was to build the thing I wanted to use.
The technical choice worth noting: one Supabase/Postgres backend serves both the iOS app and the Next.js web app. The artist portal (Backstage) is a separate authenticated surface where artists manage their own listings. The architecture means a gig added through Backstage appears on both surfaces immediately, with no admin step.
