What it is
NixStore is a package manager I wrote on top of Nix to make the day-to-day of adding and managing packages and flakes less painful. It sits between you and the raw Nix toolchain, handling the verbose parts without hiding what Nix is doing underneath.
The problem it solves
Nix is powerful but raw. Adding a package means finding the right attribute path. Wiring up a flake input means writing the same boilerplate every time. Doing this across multiple machines, keeping everything in sync, is tedious by default.
NixStore makes the common operations simple and consistent.
My role
Sole author. Concept, design, and implementation from scratch.

Why I built it
I wanted a tool that matched how I actually think about my system: in terms of packages and capabilities, not derivation syntax. NixStore is the interface I wished existed.
